It all starts at the waist:
These dresses are made to fit your waist and then gradually flare out towards the hem. A-line dresses are excellent for minimizing thighs, hips, and midsections while pulling the eyes to your bust. This style of dress is a great fit for almost any body type. There's a reason why so many brides settle on A-Line dresses for their big day! With plenty of varieties, this is a kind of dress that you can wear again and again.
Shop NowLike the A-Line style, empire dresses are made to fit through your bust. Rather than creating a distinctly angular shape like the A-Line, the Empire style flows from the bust down. This is another kind of dress that fits many body types. From curvy to apple body shapes, the Empire draws focus to your bust and minimizes everything else. For lovely ladies on the shorter side, this style defines your silhouette, especially if you choose a maxi length dress.
Shop NowA throwback to the roaring 20's style flapper dresses, Drop Waist dresses look best on lean, athletic bodies that don't have too many curves in the hip area. The key to pulling off a Drop Waist style dress is to ensure that it's not hugging you. This dress is best worn when it is able to hang freely on your body.
Shop NowOnce you know the kind of waist that fits your body type, it's time to find your shape. A few of our most popular dress shapes include:

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Mauldin Sharks 12U are a tight knit group.
“It really is like family.” Tammy Burton, Mauldin Sharks parent, said.
“Everybody on the team is my brother.” Ayden Burton, Mauldin Sharks player, said.
That have banded together while one of their own grieves.
“One of our mottos is we don’t preach family, we live it,” Stacey Burger, Mauldin Sharks head coach, said. “Everybody helps each other out.”
“They were just truly, truly a blessing to have.” Brandon Burton, Mauldin Sharks parent, said.
For 13-year-old Ayden Burton, his older brother CJ was everything.
“I looked up to him a lot. He picked us up from school. He helped us with homework and stuff,” Ayden Burton said. “He helped us with sports and everything and just taught us how to be better.”
“He wanted to be his big brother,” Brandon Burton said. “He wanted to play football like his big brother. He really idolized and looked up to his big brother.”
It was CJ who taught Ayden how to play football.
“It just motivated me to play the best that I could.” Ayden Burton said.
“He was a big football fan and he loved coming out here and watching his brothers play and then he would give them pointers,” Tammy Burton said. “So, yeah he was a big supporter of them.”
Tragically, CJ passed away back in 2020 from a rare form of brain cancer.
“It hurt a lot because he had been with me and my brother our whole lives,” Ayden Burton said. “It just didn’t right.”
“It was very heartbreaking just to lose someone, but to lose your son, it was heartbreaking.” Brandon Burton said.
The Sharks wanted to remember their top supporter. On their helmets is the number 55. It was CJ’s jersey number.
“We’re playing for a state title, but there’s other big things,” Burger said. “We’re also a family. It’s just been something to let Ayden know that we’ve got his back.”
Every time Mauldin takes the field, CJ’s watching.
“Got to show my brother up there and put a smile on his face.” Ayden Burton said.
“I mean I know he’s looking down smiling,” Tammy Burton said. “It really touched our hearts just to see his number on the back of their helmets.”
“And it was also a constant reminder for Ayden to know that his brother was always going to be with him,” Brandon Burton said. “Knowing that he’s got that 55 on the back of his helmet.”
The Mauldin Sharks won their first-ever state championship this year, beating Florance 38-0 on December 10, 2022.

A mobile home where a suspicious fire occurred Thursday in Beaufort was hours earlier the site of a search by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s SWAT Team, which seized a variety of illegal drugs and stolen weapons, police said.
Four people who were inside the home at the time of the raid were arrested.
The search occurred after months of investigation into the residence, which was known to be a hotspot for drug distribution and violence, according to a news release by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Upon entering the home, officials seized six weapons, four of which were reported stolen, and a variety of illegal drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana and prescription pills.
Four people inside the home were arrested. They were identified as Aaron Hagood, 37, of Burton; Pierre Bryant Sr., 61, of Burton; Pierre Bryant Jr., 40, of Burton, and Ashley Crumley, 39, of Lady’s Island. They face a variety of drug-related charges, including possession, distribution and manufacturing, jail records show.
As of Friday morning, the woman and three men were being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
Police are not sure whether the Beaufort mobile home was used to manufacture and distribute drugs, according to Sgt. Danny Allen, a spokesman for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 8 p.m. Thursday — less than 12 hours after the search — the Burton Fire District responded to reports of a house fire at the same residence. Upon their arrival, the fire had fully engulfed the home, and had also spread to a vehicle parked in the front driveway, according to an alert sent from the Burton Fire District.
Firefighters were quickly able to control the house fire. However, the fire also spread to the vehicle’s fuel tank, causing continual flare-ups. All flames were eventually extinguished.
No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Burton Fire District contacted the sheriff’s office to investigate after concluding the fire was “possibly intentional,” according to Fire Marshal Daniel Byrne. Firefighters were unable to immediately determine the cause of the fire.
The incident is considered “suspicious” due to the fire and its effects appearing “unnatural,” according to sheriff’s spokesman Allen.

As fire leaped from the windows of a house on Burton’s Broad River Boulevard Friday afternoon, emergency crews stepped in to save a few four-legged friends from the flames.
When the home caught fire around 1 p.m., all human occupants were able to safely exit the residence, according to Capt. Dan Byrne of the Burton Fire District. But the family’s five dogs were still in the house, the family told rescue crews.
All five dogs were rescued from the residence by Burton firefighters, but two of the pets required extra care from Beaufort County EMS. One dog was unconscious after being removed from the home, Byrne said.
“The animals did what they do when scared and hid, and the family did what they should have, which was evacuate immediately,” the Burton Fire District wrote on Facebook. “They aided us in telling us where they saw the animals run to.”
First responders gave the two dogs a chest massage to facilitate breathing, also enlisting the help of the crews’ animal rescue kits, which were donated to the county in 2019 by Project Breathe, a pet oxygen mask donation program.
The masks were placed over both dogs’ muzzles and connected to a respirator, which helped the pets breathe, Byrne said.
Four of the five dogs are in good condition, according to Byrne. Emergency crew still on scene at 3:30 p.m. could see the animals running around the yard.
The fifth, an older dog, gained consciousness after help from EMS and was then taken to the veterinarian by family.
Following the 2019 donation, every ambulance in Beaufort County has a stock of animal rescue kits on board.
But even before then, emergency crews could still try to help pets in critical condition. Some first responders would attempt mouth-to-mouth and CPR, said Tanya Pitt, a paramedic with Beaufort County EMS. Rescue teams could also use non-rebreather masks, but those devices could only blow oxygen towards a dog’s face — not necessarily help the animal breathe it in.
The house fire in Burton was controlled and extinguished by 2 p.m., Byrne said. The incident is still under investigation by the Burton Fire District.
Both lanes of Broad River Boulevard closed as emergency services responded, but the road was expected to reopen Friday evening.
The American Red Cross is leading efforts to assist the family displaced by the fire.

Burton Fire District says when they arrived to the scene around 1:30 a.m., the home was fully involved in flames. They say the home is a total loss.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, however it took them almost an hour to put out the flames because it was a wooden home.
“This is an older style home, and the fire had a really good hold of it before we got here so it took about an hour to extinguish it,” Burton Fire Assistant Fire Chief Capt. Daniel Byrne said.
Firefighters also had to extinguish spot fires in the trees and brush around the area including across the street which were started by flying embers.
“The fire was hot enough and putting enough embers up in the air that we actually had spot fires as far away as across the street,” Capt. Byrne said.
The occupants were not home at the time, but Burton Fire said they returned on Tuesday morning.
“They seem to be doing OK. We asked if they needed Red Cross assistance and at first they thought they did but they wound up going to stay with some family. It was possibly one adult male, possibly two adult males that lived in the home,” Capt. Byrne said.
Burton fire investigators have determined the fire to be suspicious and are working with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators to determine the cause.
